New for 2010
As we enter a new decade we enter a new era at Palmers Travel. Many of you will know Eric, who has been the driving force behind Palmers for 13 years. Well, Eric is now wishing to take a step back from the day to day running of Palmers Travel, but still be very much involved. In order to facilitate this, Palmers Travel has begun an association with Skinners of Oxted, a family-run coach operator, established in 1967. All bookings for 2010 will be taken at Skinners’ offices in Oxted and Skinners coaches and drivers will be taking you on your holidays.

To download a booking form click the 'Booking Form' Link at the side of each holiday description page. Please return your completed booking form with deposit, plus insurance premium if required, to the address at the bottom of the page. The amount of deposit and insurance premium are listed against each tour. We shall send you a confirmation invoice showing departure point, all special requests as well as the seat numbers and details of the type of rooms booked so that you can see at a glance exactly what we have reserved for you.
Prior to completing your booking form, you are invited to telephone our office:- 01883 713071, (local call rate number 0845 0291909) where we will be pleased to discuss your requirements and make a provisional reservation on your behalf. This will be held for a period of 7 days to enable you to complete the booking form and forward it with your deposit in the post. Cheques to be made payable to Palmers Travel. Payments by credit/debit card are welcome, no surcharge will be made for credit card payments.

Coaches
Feature adjustable seating, full air conditioning, toilet and wash room. Seats are allocated on a first come, first served basis at the time of booking. Please let us know if you have a preference so we can allocate you a seat in your preferred position. We allocate seats as per the diagram, some coaches may have a different numbering system but we keep to our plan as near as possible. We do not operate a seat rotation system.

Travel
It is very rare that you will spend more than 2½ hours on the coach before a stop is made. If it is a full travelling day, there is always a coffee stop in the morning, a lunch break, plus an afternoon tea break. In addition, bottled water & tea/coffee are available on the coach at a very reasonable price.

Singles
Naturally those travelling alone do not like paying a supplement, but many hotels charge one, which we do of course have to pass on. It does not signify that you will have a better room. In many cases it will be a double room for sole occupancy and will feature the same comforts as the others.

Hotels
We generally use 3 or 4* hotels, however some of the smaller ones do not have an official grading and where this is the case the bedroom size will vary a little; all rooms will be comfortable, well furnished and feature en suite facilities i.e. WC, wash hand basin plus either a shower or bath, and perhaps both. Not all hotels have a lift, but where this is the case the rooms allocated will be on a low floor. If this is of particular importance to you please call for more information.

Luggage
Hotel porterage is included on some tours and usually available on others for a small charge. If you are unable to carry your case without assistance please let us know at time of booking.

Tipping
As a guide, a recommendation of around £1 per person per day for driver and guide, when felt appropriate.

Health
To take full advantage of the holiday you should be reasonably fit but it is up to you to decide how much walking you do. Some customers like to see everything possible, others prefer to take a drink in a pavement café and savour the local atmosphere. If you are travelling into Europe, make sure you have a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) as well as travel insurance.

Excursions
Nearly all the excursions are a comfortable driving distance from the hotel. Most will leave around 9.15 am, and a full day excursion will return late afternoon to allow time to freshen up before dinner, usually taken around 7-7.30 pm.

Financial Security
To comply with “the Package Travel, Package Tours Regulations 1992” all Palmers Travel passengers are fully insured in the event of the insolvency of Palmers Travel. For full details please see the booking conditions.

Insurance
For all non-UK mainland holidays it is vital that you are covered by adequate personal insurance and it is a condition of booking that you either take our insurance or that of a reputable alternative company. Insurance for UK holidays is recommended, but discretionary. Remember that travel insurance should be paid for at the time of booking, otherwise the cancellation clause of the policy may not apply. 

Passports
For all Continental tours you must have a full passport (and visas if not a British Citizen).

Joining Your Tour
Local Pick up Points and Times Each tour has a specific departure code: CLICK HERE to see the list of Departure Codes and Times. Alternatively, you can click on the Departure Code of each Holiday and it will take you to the same list. Please ensure you are at the correct pick-up point in good time, at least 10 minutes before departure.

Taxi Door to Door We are pleased to be able to continue this service and it is available as an optional extra on most holidays. You will be picked up from and returned to your home by taxi/minibus at the end of the holiday. For addresses in all BR and DA postcodes for just £32 return from a single address we can take up to 4 people and for addresses in TN 1, 2, 4, 9, 10, 13, 14 & 15 the fee is £40 return. The address MUST be given when you first book and is NOT available to passengers booking within 14 days of departure.

Tailor made tours for Groups
If you are organising an outing for your club or society be it a day excursion or short break then we will be happy to provide a ‘Tailor Made’ tour just for you and your members.
