England’s Peak District is a wonderful blend of green hills and soft-coloured natural stone villages that adorn the countryside.

We shall visit the market towns of Chesterfield, Buxton, Bakewell and Wirksworth. We shall also locate the last of the season’s ‘Well Dressings’ for you to see and enjoy the artistry that creates these floral pictures. This beautiful custom is all but unique to Derbyshire. The ‘Palace of the Peaks’ - Chatsworth House is one of the most interesting and fascinating of our stately homes, added to this the Heritage railway of the historic market town of Wirksworth, a fascinating place to explore, with its narrow streets and maze of interesting alleyways.

After visiting Bakewell on our last day we shall head home arriving early evening.
