A full day to Plantasia a massive glass Tropical hothouse pyramid located in the centre of Swansea. It features three climatic zones, tropical, arid and humid. There are over 5,000 unusual exotic plants including rare specimens. The tropical theme is enhanced by free-flying butterflies in the Butterfly House and a colony of endangered tamarind monkeys. There is also a large collection of reptiles, fish, insects, a Burmese python, a well stocked gift shop and coffee shop.

And our weekend would not be complete without a ride on one of the most popular railways in Wales - The Brecon Beacons Mountain Railway - to see some of the lovely Welsh countryside at its Autumnal best then to Castell Coch, which is a late nineteenth-century spectacular 'fairytale'-style castle in medieval gothic style. Its picturesque location and stunning architecture mean that it is often used as a film location.

For our outward journey a visit to Gloucester and on our return we shall make a stop in the delightful Cotswolds village of Lacock. Arriving home early evening.
