Renowned for its Roman Baths and therapeutic waters, Bath is a beautiful city with many heritage sites. Alongside its Medieval cathedral, the city centre is filled with Georgian buildings in Bath stone, built in the 18th century. Then, it was a fashionable town, attracting writers, artists, royalty and politicians. Today it retains its grandeur and English charm, with a sense of luxury and quirky corners that are home to artisans producing hand-crafted goods. As usual we have included visits to beautiful and fascinating places, a relaxing cruise and a ride back to the days of steam.

Day 1:   Morning departure with a visit to The National Arboreta in all its springtime glory. Arriving at the hotel late afternoon.


Day 2:   Full day in the wonderful historic city of Bath, perhaps spoil yourself with a dip in the Thermae Bath Spa; wander through the Roman city; visit the medieval splendour of the Abbey; enjoy the beauty of the riverside parks, and of course you must sample the famous Bath buns at Sally Lunn’s house.


Day 3:  Visit the spectacular late 17th century mansion, garden and deer park at Dyrham whose lavish collections reflect the fashion for all things Dutch during the reign of William and Mary. After lunch relax and enjoy our cruise.


Day 4:  A visit to the East Somerset Railway, with time to browse amongst their collection before our ride through the rolling Mendip countryside. Arriving home early evening.
