The Austrian Tirol is a picture-book region of outstanding beauty, where jagged, snow-capped peaks tower above fast-flowing rivers, green meadows and onion-domed churches.

Overnight hotel:  Hotel Mercure, Forbach, Lorraine **
Located in the heart of Europe in relaxing surroundings. All rooms are en-suite with hair dryer, minibar, direct dial telephone and satellite television.

Hotel:  Hotel Alpenhof, Brixen im Thale, Tirol ****
In the heart of the Kitzbüheler Alps - Wilder Kaiser - you will find the Hotel Alpenhof Brixen. From the excellent restaurant and conservatory there are magnificent views of the beautiful Alps. All rooms are equipped with shower/toilet, hair dryer, telephone, cable TV, seating nook with a sleeper sofa and, in most cases, a private balcony. There is also an indoor pool, sauna and Wellness Centre.

Day 1:   Morning departure for France, drive direct to overnight hotel, with comfort stops.
Day 2:  Drive across Germany into Austria. Arriving at Brixen in Thale late afternoon.
Day 3:  Day at leisure in resort.
Day 4:  Morning visit to St Johann in Tirol. In the afternoon the world-famous ski resort of Kitzbühel, a very picturesque colourful little old-world town in a truly magnificent setting between the Kitzbühelr Alps and the Kaiser Mountains.
Day 5:  Travel to Kufstein with time to visit its formidable fortress before the great Hero’s organ is played at midday. Afternoon tea stop near Prama where you will be able to see some of the famed Lipizzaner white horses.
Day 6:  Full day to Chiemsee and the last of King Ludwig’s wonderful creations. The French "Sun King" Louis XIV was the embodiment of absolute monarchy, Ludwig fulfilled his long-cherished dream of building a "New Versailles". Highlights of the over twenty state rooms are the Ambassador's Staircase, the Great Hall of Mirrors and the State Bedchamber.
Day 7:  A day at leisure in Brixen, or perhaps take the local train into Westendorf.
Day 8:   Depart our hotel for journey back to France and our overnight accommodation.
Day 9:   Return to England, arriving at your local area mid-evening.
