Day 1:  Travel to our hotel.

Day 2:  Morning at leisure in Bowness-on-Windermere, afternoon we visit Hawkshead.

Day 3:  Drive to Settle for our train ride as this 72 mile route from Settle to Carlisle takes you on a journey through the magnificent Yorkshire Dales, over the 24 arches of the Ribblehead Viaduct before plunging in to the longest tunnel on the line at Blea Moor. Emerging onto the side of Dentdale, the line leaves the Dales at Garsdale and makes it way through the gentle, lush rolling hills of the Eden Valley, with rural villages and market towns. Afternoon in the border city of Carlisle, so much to see and do.

Day 4:  Our travels in the Lake District will show you the wonderful scenery of this special region, Grasmere, Thirlmere, Derwent Water, Keswick, Ullswater and Kirkstone Pass - so picturesque.

Day 5:  Return home via the beautiful Derbyshire peak district, lunch in Bakewell. Arriving in your area mid-evening.
