Two lovely walks in the Cotswolds, and the chance to explore part of the Usk Valley in Monmouthshire. The Usk Valley walk stretches from Caerleon to Brecon, we explore just two sections of this unspoilt valley. Most walking is on level ground although there is one optional hilly walk. Beware paths can be muddy so bring suitable footwear.

Day 1:   Leave your local area then after refreshments commence our first walk from the market town of Corsham on the southern edge of the Cotswolds. Field paths and country lanes, gently undulating. Distance 4 miles.


Day 2:   Into the Brecon Beacons our walk follows the River Usk downstream from Llangynidr to Crickhowell for lunch then on to Gilwern. Distance 7.5 miles.


Day 3:   From Chain Bridge we continue southwards, towards Usk, for lunch. This small town has more than its fair share of pubs, restaurants and cafes. This afternoon a level route following the course of the river to Llantrissent. Distance 6.5 miles.


Day 4:   Departing our hotel we travel to Bourton-on-the-Water, one of the prettiest villages in England. Our walk takes us past lakes and riverside, woodlands and fields. An easy 4.5 miles with time for refreshments before returning home early evening.
