Lake Garda always conjures up pictures of graceful trees waving in gentle breezes, colourful villages and friendly people, blue water of the lake lapping gently along the shore and a backdrop of snow-capped mountains. Mix these with lashings of warm sunshine, flower-decked surroundings, and the mystery and magic of the lagoon islands of Venice.

Day 1: Morning departure for Dover and ferry to France. With suitable comfort stops arriving at overnight hotel early evening.
Day 2: Travel through scenic Switzerland entering Italy near the shores of Lake of Como and on to Lake Garda arriving at hotel late afternoon.
Day 3: Drive towards the famous national park of the river Mincio to ‘Piccolo Venezia’ - Ducal Mantua an intriguing historic city. Later we pass the great fortified town of Valeggio sul Mincio, with its daunting Scaligeri towers then to the 'Garden Park of Sigurtà, considered one of the most beautiful in the world.
Day 4: A day at leisure, Tuesday is market day in Desenzano, it starts early and lasts until midday. The roads around the hotel are closed to traffic, perhaps take one of the regular lake steamers to irmione.
Day 5: An early start as we head for Venice. The city of water and islands, home to gondoliers in striped jerseys. The Bridge of Sighs, St. Marks Square, Rialto Bridge and the Grand Canal have been fabled holiday destinations for centuries. If you have never visited Venice, then you are in for a memorable day.
Day 6: A leisurely drive along the eastern shoreline, Bardilino, Garda and Malcesine for coffee before reaching Riva del Garda for lunch and time to explore before returning to our hotel.
Day 7: On the western shore is Gardone Riviera, an elegant and popular resort, famous for the poet Gabriele D’Annunzio’s monumental villa. Then to an Olive Oil Farm in the hills, tour and taste - it is very good for you!
Day 8: Depart after breakfast, returning to the overnight Hotel.
Day 9: Continuing to Calais and our ferry, arriving in your local area mid-evening.
